Walsall car thief jailed for stealing five vehicles in four days in Staffordshire communities

A Walsall car thief has been jailed after admitting stealing five cars in a period of four days in neighbouring South Staffordshire district.

Steven Elmore, aged 34, pleaded guilty to five counts of theft of a motor vehicle at Stafford Crown Court where he appeared on August 28. all the thefts were carried out in July last year.

In a spree, he stole a Jaguar F-pace, a Jaguar 240, a Range Rover Discovery, a Land Rover Discovery and a Range Rover Evoque on July 19, 23, 24 with two thefts carried out on July 30.

Speaking after the sentencing, Sgt Alex Lloyd-Davies, of South Staffordshire local policing team, said: “Elmore was highly active in vehicle-related criminality throughout the south of the county in the summer of 2024.

“I am pleased he has been handed prison time for his offending and hope that this provides some comfort to his victims who lost vehicles worth a substantial amount of money by his hands.”

For his actions Elmore, of Walsall, was sentenced to three years and four months imprisonment.
