Black Country used car dealer plans 1,334 sq ft showroom extension
Wednesbury garage submits expansion plan
A well-known Black Country car dealer is seeking to extend its showroom space.
Carlton Motors in Wednesbury has applied to Sandwell Council for permission to expand its premises on the corner of Dudley Street and St James Street.

The development will create an extra 1,334 sq ft of floorspace, a 72 per cent increase in size compared to the present showroom.
However, it is substantially smaller than the 4,289 sq ft, two-storey extension which Sandwell Council gave permission for last year.

The garage, which has been in Wednesbury for more than 50 years, wants to build a new workshop area to the rear of the premises for MoT and repair works.
If approved, the showroom area will be extended to cover the existing workshop at the front of the building.
According to the application, the business supports five full-time jobs.
The plans will now be considered by Sandwell Council’s planning department.
