Black Country brewery thanks supporters after taproom fundraiser exceeds target
The fundraiser launched by the brewery to help build a new taproom has exceeded its target.
A Black Country brewery has offered thanks to its supporters after hitting a target for building a new taproom and brewery.
New Invention Brewery began work on developing its new site on Adderley Street in Digbeth, with production having soared from 15,700 litres in 2021 to more than 54,000 litres in 2025.
It said that the increased volume since it started in 2019 at its site in Bloxwich had left it needing a bigger facility, and the Digbeth site had proved perfect.
It had set a target of £15,000 on Crowdfunder, then moved up to a stretch target of £20,000, both of which have been passed by donations from 151 people, with the total standing, to date, at £20,235.

Owner Karol Kawecki put out a message on social media to thank supporters for believing in the brewery and helping them to progress on with their plans.
He said: “The New Invention Digbeth Crowdfunder is officially finished and we genuinely can’t thank you enough.
“When we launched this, our original target was £15,000. You smashed through that and then somehow pushed us beyond the £20,000 stretch target as well.
“Every pledge, share, message and bit of support has helped us get closer to turning this place into the new home of New Invention.

“And now the real work continues. The brewery is taking shape, the taps are in, the bar is coming together and we’re getting closer to opening the doors.
“To every single one of the people who backed us, thank you.2We’ll be sharing plenty more over the next few weeks as Digbeth comes together.”
The brewery said on Crowdfunder that any donations were still open, with all additional funding going into the work to build the brewery.

The message read: “Any additional funding will go directly back into growing the new Digbeth brewery.
“Our first priority is increasing fermentation capacity so we can brew more efficiently and keep up with demand.
“If we can push beyond that, we’d love to launch a dedicated barrel-aged beer programme at Digbeth, including barrels, storage and the equipment needed to produce special aged releases.”
