Happy Christmas! Amelia comes out on top in Kingswinford and South Staffs MP's competition
A Wordsley school girl has won Kingswinford & South Staffordshire MP Mike Wood's Christmas Card Competition for 2025.
Kingswinford & South Staffordshire MP Mike Wood has announced the winner of his Christmas Card Competition for 2025.
Now in its eleventh year, the winning entry to the annual competition was submitted by Amelia McGrory, aged 10, from Belle Vue Primary School in Wordsley.

Selected as the winning design from over 500 entries submitted by schools from across Kingswinford and South Staffordshire; Amelia's winning design featured a highland cow, festooned with decorative Christmas lights and a festive Santa hat.
Mr Wood said: “The standard of entries for my Christmas competition was once again incredibly high this year, and I am really pleased that so many children chose to take part. It’s always challenging to select just one winner – but Amelia’s artwork was truly exceptional.
"I thought her design showed real commercial awareness, she tapped into the huge popularity of the range of highland cow products we’ve been seeing on shelves this year, just like a professional designer would.
"I know she has entered my competition during her time at primary school without fail for many years – so I’m really pleased to be able to recognise her ongoing hard work and artistic talent as the overall winner in 2025.
In addition to having her design displayed on the front of the MP’s Christmas card, the young artist was also presented with a framed copy of a certificate, and a prize sponsored by the West Midlands Safari Park.
The MP also presented the eight runners-up with framed copies of a certificate, as well as other prizes donated by Dudley Zoo, The Black Country Living Museum, The Kingswood Trust and West Bromwich Albion Football Club.
The six runners-up's designs are included on the back of the card, and feature designs from pupils at St Mary's CE Primary; The Brier School; Dawley Brook Primary; Ashwood Park Primary; St John's CE Primary; Perton Middle; Perton Primary Academy and St Chad's First School.
