New images, taken by the Express & Star, have shown the progression of a £3 million project to upgrade the Yorks' Bridge, on Norton Road, Pelsall.

Locally known as the 'Fingerpost Bridge', work on the bridge was proposed in 2020 when Walsall Council reported it was 'deteriorating' and becoming 'unsafe'.

The council also said that the bridge was only capable of taking a maximum weight of seven-and-a-half tonnes, instead of the required 44 tonnes.

Now, new images have shown the progression of the works on the bridge, which sits adjacent to the popular Fingerpost Pub.
