M6 north in Birmingham reopens after over-running roadworks - 60 minute delays
Drivers on the M6 are facing delays of around an hour due to over-running roadworks in Birmingham.
As a result the northbound carriageway between junction 5 at Castle Bromwich and junction 6 at Gravelly Hill was closed so that a broken down machine can be moved.
National Highways West Midlands posted on social media platform X: "Motorway closed Overrun roadworks from overnight. A piece of machinery has broken down and requires specialist recovery.

"Long delays on approach. Avoid the area."
"@HighwaysWMIDS The #M6 remains closed between J4 @bhx_official and J4A #M42 due to overrunning roadworks.
"The closure is expected to be lifted before morning rush hour. There are delays for at least 30 minutes in the area. Please plan ahead."
