Wolverhampton to light up with free arts festival and lantern parade
Fringe Arts Wolves will bring artists, performers, workshops and a lantern parade to Wolverhampton from November 27 to 29
A free arts festival featuring more than 28 visual artists, live music, theatre and a lantern parade will return to Wolverhampton city centre in November.

Fringe Arts Wolves will run from Friday, November 27, to Sunday, November 29, following its first year, which attracted almost 2,000 visitors.
The three-day festival will include workshops, exhibitions, open studios, performances and a city-centre light trail.

This year’s theme, Illuminate, will explore the local community, nature, sustainability and the skills people can share, including making and repairing.
The programme will feature more than 30 local performers alongside visiting artists and touring productions.
The festival will open with a lantern parade at 7pm on Friday, November 27, travelling along Victoria Street. Dancers from Flexus Dance and performer Neone The Wonderer will accompany the parade, which will finish in St Peter’s Square with a performance of Out of the Deep Blue by Autin Theatre.

Organisers say the event is programmed with the local community and aims to celebrate homegrown talent alongside artists from further afield.
All festival activities are free to explore, with events suitable for a range of ages.
Fringe Arts Wolves is organised by Asylum Artist Quarter and Gatis Community Space, with funding from Arts Council England, Enjoy Wolverhampton/BID and Wolverhampton City Council.
The full programme is available at the Asylum Art Gallery website.
