Scrapyard fire in Willenhall sees large plumes of smoke and multiple fire engines called to scene

Fire fighters from five different stations were called into action to tackle a blaze at a Willenhall scrapyard.

The fire, which could be seen across Willenhall and the surrounding areas as smoke billowed into the air, had started at Alexander Brothers Metal Recycling, Willenhall around 6.25pm.

Crews from Bloxwich, Fallings Park, Walsall, Bilston and Tipton were called to the scene to tackle the blaze.

West Midlands Fire Service said the fire was at a scrapyard which had metal canisters and reported large amounts of smoke.

In a post on X, the fire service said: "We currently have six fire crews tackling a fire at a scrapyard in Ward Street, #Willenhall
