The body of a 27-year-old woman was found at a property in Moncrieffe Street this morning.

Officers were called to the terraced home at approximately 2:40am by the ambulance service.

A post mortem will take place tomorrow to establish the cause of death, which is being treated as unexplained.

Mother-of-three Shabina Bibi has lived in the street all her life and saw the emergency services arrive in the early hours of yesterday morning.

However, she said she did not pay too much attention to this, as police are regular visitors to the road.

The news a body had been discovered just a few doors away from her has left Mrs Bibi shocked and on edge.

Mother Mrs Bibi, aged 37, said: "At about 2.30am I could see the flashing lights outside.

"I looked out and the police were there, but that's nothing new for us around here.

"Then an ambulance and paramedics and more police cars arrived.

"I could hear talking outside but just thought it was an everyday job.

"You don't want anything like this to happen on your street, it's such a shame.

"It's made me feel a bit scared to be living here."

Detective Inspector Harry Harrison, who is leading the investigation, said: "I would appeal for anyone who saw anything or has any information to contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
