Tickets remain unsold for the X Factor Live tour, which kicks off in Birmingham next weekend.

A second date was arranged at the city's LG Arena after promoters claimed "unprecedented" demand for tickets next Saturday - but the venue is stll selling tickets for the 13,926 capacity event on both Saturday and Sunday.

There will be a matinee and an evening show on both days and both are still boasting an "excellent" level of ticket availability. It is the same situation across the country - the tour's 38 dates at Liverpool's Echo Arena, Manchester MEN Arena, London Wembley, and the Motorpoint in Sheffield all have dozens, if not hundreds, of tickets left to buy.

By comparison, last year's X Factor Live tour completely sold out, with almost one million people seeing the show.

The tour's promotoers, Hackford Jones PR, said they could not comment on ticket sales. However, spokeswoman Sara Lee added: "What we will say is that they are doing more dates that ever before this year."
