A glamour model from Cannock has overcome tragedy to win a place in a national men's magazine contest.

Kerry-Anne Hutchison beat hundreds of hopefuls to become one of 150 women in the Little Black Book, published by Maxim.

She is now calling on people living in her home town to vote for her, in a bid to scoop a £10,000 photoshoot to be published in the magazine.

The 25-year-old, of Melbourne Road, Heath Hayes, became pregnant at the age of 19, but her daughter was born prematurely and died. She was then diagnosed with cancer but after intensive treatment has now finally manage to beat it.

Kerry-Anne was a pupil of Hagley Park School in Rugeley and then studied leisure and tourism at Stafford College, but said she has always loved modelling and is now trying to turn it into her career.

She has posed in Max Power, Nuts, FHM and French Vogue magazines and is on the books of numerous agencies, but still works as a cleaner at Homebase in Cannock.

"I model part-time all over the UK and it was just for fun really," she said.

"But after my daughter died and the cancer I started modelling because it made me feel good," she added.

Readers of the magazine have to vote for their favourite girl and Kerry-Anne urged people to help her take another step towards success. She added: "It does make you feel good about yourself and I never thought when I was at school I would be doing this – but it is an addiction.

"Once you see yourself in a magazine you want more pictures to be taken.

"I want people to vote for me because I think that I deserve to win something."

To vote for her in Maxim text 089 to 60060.
