Mazda’s CX-6e arrives priced from £42,990

New electric model has a range of up to 300 miles.
Mazda has confirmed pricing and specifications for its new CX-6e electric SUV.
Set to arrive in the UK later this year, the CX-6e uses a 78kWh battery to unlock a range of up to 300 miles, while a rapid charge speed of 200kW should return a 10 to 80 per cent top-up in 24 minutes.
Inside, the CX-6e gets a large 26.45-inch infotainment screen with a customisable dual-split layout which aims to provide key information in a clear and easy-to-read format. There’s also a head-up display system ahead of the driver. All cars get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, too.

From launch, the CX-6e will be available in two grades – Takumi and Takumi Plus – with the former bringing 19-inch wheels and the aforementioned display. Takumi Plus cars, meanwhile, add 21-inch wheels, a digital rear-view camera and heated outer rear seats. The CX-6e is also being launched with seven exterior colour choices, with a launch ‘Nightfall Violet’ being one of the standout choices for the new electric model.
Drivers can choose between Stone or Black Maztex interior colours on the Takumi, or two-tone Amethyst and White Maztex in Takumi Plus. Maztex is Mazda’s own vegan alternative to leather.

At the rear sits a 468-litre boot which can be expanded to 1,434 litres by folding down the rear seats.
Following its full European launch this summer, first examples of the CX-6e are expected to arrive in the UK later on this year. Prices start at £42,990 for the standard car, rising to £45,390 for Takumi Plus models.
