Poets, Prattlers and Pandemonialists have been asked by Creative Black Country to run a series of online poetry activities across the region.

The sessions, titled Stay Up Your Own End, will provide ideas for how people might create their own poetry and a platform for poets of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to share their work.

The first poetry prompt will go live on Monday, May 25 and will focus on the Walsall area.

In total there will be six events, all being held on Monday evenings on Facebook centred on Dudley, Sandwell, Wolverhampton, Stourbridge, before culminating in a grand finale on July 20.

At each event a judge’s favourite will be chosen and will secure a £25 prize for the author, plus the opportunity to create a video for the finale.

Steve Pottinger, from Poets, Prattlers and Pandemonialists, said: “Everyone – whether or not they consider themselves a poet – is welcome to join in by submitting work, or coming along to our Facebook page to read what local people have to say about life in their part of the Black Country.”

Completed poems should be submitted to poetsprattlerspandemonialists@gmail.com
