Popular Staffordshire pub temporarily closes - here's why
The pub will be shut for 12 days.
A popular pub in Staffordshire has temporarily closed its doors for a huge refurb.
The George IV pub in Bore Street, Lichfield, closed yesterday for 12 days.

A post on the pub’s social media page yesterday said: “This is going to be the hardest 12 days, we haven’t been shut for this long since covid.
“To all of our customers, friends & beyond. If anybody needs anything please just reach out.
“For now, our staff can put their feet up (not for long) and enjoy some time off before the Christmas chaos commences.
“Stay tuned for sneak peaks of the new George IV.”
