Stourbridge hospice secures £20,000 Lottery grant for wellbeing programme
The Mary Stevens Hospice celebrates £20,000 National Lottery funding to support creative patient programme
The Mary Stevens Hospice, based in Stourbridge, is celebrating after receiving £20,000 of funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to continue its popular Creative Wellbeing programme for patients accessing hospice services.

The funding, made possible thanks to National Lottery players, will enable the hospice to continue delivering their Creative Wellbeing group for a further two years, providing opportunities for people living with life-limiting conditions to take part in a wide range of activities.
The Creative Wellbeing group runs weekly sessions within The Mary Stevens Hospice Day Service Unit, offering patients the chance to explore activities including painting, pottery, woodwork and other creative pursuits. The sessions are designed to support wellbeing, reduce feelings of isolation and provide a welcoming environment where people can connect with others who share similar experiences.
The funding will also support wellbeing sessions for hospice staff and volunteers, recognising the important role they play in providing specialist palliative care and ensuring they have opportunities to look after their own wellbeing.
Lisa Tromans, Creative Wellbeing Lead at The Mary Stevens Hospice, said: "We're delighted that The National Lottery Community Fund has recognised our work and thanks to National Lottery players, we can continue to provide this popular programme for people living with life-limiting conditions who access our Day Service Unit.
It not only helps patients to build relationships with others facing similar experiences but also supports people to learn new skills or hobbies, express themselves creatively and improve their overall wellbeing. We are incredibly grateful for this support, which will allow us to continue making a real difference to the lives of our patients, as well as supporting the wellbeing of our staff and volunteers."
