Staffordshire WI members celebrate achievements at annual awards day
Women's Institute members from across Staffordshire gathered to celebrate long service, creativity and competition successes
Members of the Staffordshire Federation of Women's Institutes came together for their annual Awards Day, celebrating achievements and enjoying an afternoon and evening of tea, cake and friendship.

The event, held at the Young Farmers Club last week, included presentations to members who have been part of the organisation for 20, 30 and 40 years.
The evening saw trophies awarded to winners of competitions covering a wide range of skills, including creative writing, crafts, art, design, preserves and floral art.

Members also showcased their talents in creating a garden from a bare patch, while awards were presented to quiz teams, Crown Green Bowls players and skittles competitors.
Bishop's Wood WI received the winners' rose bowl for skittles in the group's centenary year.
Acton Trussell WI was also recognised for achieving the greatest increase in membership over the past year, with numbers rising by almost 50 per cent.

Helen Mancey, chair of Staffordshire Federation of Women's Institutes, said: “It is always lovely to get together to celebrate achievements and our members show time and time again what special talents they have.
“The County Show is one of the ways that members get involved but we also have many competitions that run throughout the year.

“There is something for everyone in the WI and for those who might have hidden talents, it is a wonderful opportunity to have a go with support and friendship always available.”
