No guarantee former West Brom attacker will be back to face Wolves this weekend

Cardiff City visit Molineux to face Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

Cardiff City boss Brian Barry-Murphy has offered no assurances that former Albion attacker Callum Robinson will return to his squad at Wolves on Saturday.

Robinson - a former Bluebirds player of the year - has missed Cardiff’s last two matches after failing to meet ‘certain standards’.

And there is no guarantee Robinson will be back in the squad this weekend.

"Every squad is the same for us," boss Brian Barry-Murphy told the South Wales Echo. "We train today, train tomorrow and then we pick the squad for Saturday's game."

He added: "Game by game for us, always. All that stuff about speculation and what's going to happen in the future is irrelevant to me."

Robinson was among the goalscorers when Cardiff thrashed Watford 5-1 earlier this month, but was dropped for the 2-2 draw at high-flying Middlesbrough four days later.

"We have certain standards that all the players have to adhere to before they are considered for selection," Barry-Murphy said at the time. "Callum missed out on some of those before last Saturday so he wasn't available.

"But he is back with us this week."

However, Robinson did not return as Cardiff then continued their improved form by beating Birmingham City 1-0 last weekend - though Barry-Murphy insists the issues is not personal.

"Callum's a great guy," he said last week. "He's been a great player for us and a great person, so there's no problem whatsoever. I'm very pleased to have him back in training this week."

Yousef Salech got the first-half winner against Blues, though he was in line to be a substitute until Krystian Bielik was injured in the warm-up.

Cardiff did not pick up their first win of the season until mid-September, but last weekend’s success means they have now triumphed in three of their last five Championship matches.
