Community fundraiser doubles success after rapid early milestone

A charity campaign launched by Shaz Saleem at the start of February has raised awareness and funds for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and One Cat at a Time. Initially aiming to raise £1,000, the team reached their target within a month. They then set a new goal of £1,500 — a milestone they have now exceeded.

The team held a charity quiz night on March 18 at The British Oak, Kingswinford and raised £217.50, added to their online total of £1,382.50, they are now on £1,600.

Shaz said: "The event was incredible thank you so much to everyone who attended, it was lovely seeing so many people including Michelle Stokes from TSF Kuppa Club, Gail Bradley from Kingswinford & Wall Heath Litter Pick Group, the Kingswinford in Bloom team, Maya Garbett and the Kingswinford Foodbank team, Dawn Keeley, Ruth Orgill and so many more."

The Charity Quiz night saw 14 teams take part in an eight rounds of tough questions. Team Moto led by Edith won the night by just 5 points at 315 points.

The event was to raise money and awareness for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and One Cat at a Time.

Shaz added: "Huge thank you to Lisa from the British Oak, Territreatsretro and to everyone who attended and supported this event.

"On April 4 I will be taking part in a wing walking challenge raising money for Midlands Air Ambulance and One Cat at a Time."
