Stourport charity celebrate their first Christmas tree at Worcester Cathedral
Mentor Link, a children’s charity with headquarters based in Stourport, are celebrating their first, ever Christmas Tree at Worcester Cathedral’s Christmas Tree Festival.
The tree was kindly donated by a member of the public to the Mentor Link charity shop in Stourport, and the hanging decorations were handmade by Mentor Link staff.
Mentor Link provides emotional and social support to children who are suffering from life challenges such as grief, anxiety, depression, family breakdowns, problems with engaging in education and attending school, just to name a few.
The charity was created by CEO Andrea Maddocks 23 years ago, helping over 300 children each year, with approximately 200 trained volunteer mentors, who give up 1-2 hours a week to help a child find their smile.

The charity has mentors who work all over the country, including Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Birmingham and Shropshire. The Mentors visit children in schools and at home.
Next year the charity is expanding and hope to recruit even more volunteer mentors, especially in the Wolverhampton, Staffordshire and Herefordshire areas, and are looking for people who have life experience, 1-2 hours a week to spare and would like to help children.
To find out more, please phone 01299 822336 to train to become a Volunteer Mentor (DBS checks and vetting applies).
Mentor Link hope their Christmas Tree at Worcester Cathedral will help raise awareness of the charity and the great work they do in helping the future generations.
