Agency launches ‘Whistle 4 Help’ to champion Midlands charities
Midlands communications and reputation agency Whistle PR has launched a new community and charity initiative, ‘Whistle 4 Help’, designed to support local causes through volunteering and pro bono PR support.
As part of the initiative, Whistle is calling on local charities, not-for-profit organisations, and community groups across the Midlands to get in touch if they need help raising awareness, running events, or simply hands-on support to achieve a goal.
Through Whistle 4 Help, the agency will provide a mix of solo and team volunteering, skills-based support or strategic PR activity to four causes that matter most in the local community, throughout 2026.
All Whistle employees benefit from a dedicated volunteering policy, which allows them to take 15 hours each year to take part in volunteering and community work.
Alongside individual volunteering, the agency also organises team volunteering days, such as recent work supporting both Rookery Park and the Community Environmental Trust, where the team helped to tidy and refresh both community gardens.

The launch of Whistle 4 Help builds on Whistle’s long-standing commitment to giving back. The agency has partnered with the National Literacy Trust, providing one-to-one reading mentoring for young people, delivering group presentations to local schools and universities and supporting fundraising efforts to boost literacy among young people.
Whistle also supports Smart Works Birmingham on an ongoing pro bono PR basis, while also contributing clothing and accessories to the charity’s wardrobe collection. Managing Director Sarah Kent plays an active personal role in the charity, offering monthly interview coaching and helping Smart Works Birmingham develop new community initiatives that empower women into employment.
“Community has always been at the heart of Whistle,” said Sarah. “Through Whistle 4 Help, we want to formalise our commitment to giving back by using our brilliant team’s time, energy, and expertise to support local causes doing incredible work across the Midlands.”
Ann Powell, Centre Manager at Smart Works Birmingham, adds: “The Whistle team have been an incredible support to our charity over the past few years. They continuously fundraise through their events and collect a huge amount of donations for our wardrobe. Sarah is brilliant and has dedicated a significant amount of her own time to support us through many of our ongoing projects and their pro bono communications work has secured us brilliant coverage and local awareness to drive more volunteers to work with us.”
