Wolverhampton firm breaks fundraising record to grant dreams for 42 children
A Wolverhampton firm has shattered records once again by raising the biggest ever amount in a single event for a fellow Wolverhampton charity which will grant the dreams of 42 seriously or terminally ill children.
Agent Rainmaker Live took place in London which saw hundreds of letting agency owners from across the country gather to celebrate business growth and success, whilst raising an incredible £102,250 during the event’s charity auction.
It’s the largest ever amount raised by one company, and at one event, for Promise Dreams, which supports children and their families who are going through the most difficult times – from financial support towards once-in-a-lifetime holidays and experiences to living arrangements and equipment.
Agent Rainmaker is a long-time champion of the charity, raising over £300,000 in the last eight years, with each year’s events getting bigger and better than ever before. Agent Rainmaker Live 2023 raised £40,122 for the charity, last year’s event raised £74,000, and this year’s surpassed that by another £28,000.
“We’re in utter disbelief at the amount raised,” explained Nikki Yeomans, Manager of Promise Dreams. “Asking people to donate when things are tough for so many is never easy, yet the generosity of everyone at Agent Rainmaker continues to amaze us. The money will make such a difference to the lives of 42 children and their families who are currently waiting for their wishes to come true.
“A huge and heartfelt thank you to Sally and the Agent Rainmaker team for once again putting on an incredible event and for choosing us as their charity of choice. Their fundraising efforts make up around a third of our total donations, and over the last eight years have created lasting memories for families.”
Although the charity operates from Wolverhampton, it accepts nominations from children and families across the length and breadth of the UK.
Currently waiting for their wishes to come true is Rylan, who wants a birthday party complete with indoor fireworks and superheroes, Kayden, whose wish is to fly in an aeroplane – which Promise Dreams is arranging between London and Newcastle – and Freya, whose dream is to meet the princesses at Disney on Ice.
Sally Lawson, Founder of Agent Rainmaker said: “All of the Agent Rainmaker events we host are designed to help letting agency owners build better, more efficient and more profitable businesses.
“The fact that the agents in the room at this year’s event raised over £100,000, compared to £74,000 last year and £40,000 the year before, is astounding, and testament to how when we work together and give our all, we can achieve even greater things to help others. A huge thank you to Nikki and Vickie for working so tirelessly to help these incredible children and their families.”
