A post put out on Walsall Arboretum’s Facebook page said: “A fresh chapter for the Arboretum café

“As part of the transition to Walsall Council management, the café will be temporarily closed while the handover takes place.

“The café was originally due to close from Thursday 5 November to Sunday 8 November, with a soft reopening on Monday 9 November.

“The current private operator has now confirmed that the café will also be closed on Wednesday 4 November to allow them time to clear the premises ahead of the handover. This additional day of closure is a decision made by the current operator as part of their exit arrangements.

“We're looking forward to welcoming visitors back from Monday 9 November and will share more information about the café in the coming days. From then, the café will operate a card and contactless payment system.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding during the changeover.”
