Hublets to enhance visitor experience at Lye Library
Digital tablets, known as Hublets, have been installed at Lye Library.
Easily operated, the Hublets are housed in docking stations and can be released and activated by customers who have a library card and PIN. They will not work outside the library but, unlike the public desktop computers, can be carried around inside it.
“They’re a good alternative for individuals who want to work from their own little corner of the library or for community groups who may want to show pictures or bring up instructions,” said Lye Library manager Nick Sturgess.
“Ideal for gaming, browsing the internet or research, the only thing they can’t do is print – but we’ve got PCs for that.

“Over time, we’ll also be able to tailor the Hublets to our customers’ needs – meaning that it will be even simpler for people to find what they need. We’re delighted to have added them to the facilities Lye offers.”
