Meire Higgins, 21, found out she was pregnant with her first child Grayson, now two, in May 2023, when she was 18, and two months later, her mum Jodie Higgins, 39, also found out she was expecting.
Neither mum of five Jodie, nor Meire, who now also shares Amiyah, 14 weeks, with partner Callum 22, were planning to get pregnant, so were both hugely surprised by the news.
The duo went to every hospital appointment together, planned each other’s gender reveals, and helped each other through every step of their journey.

Grayson was born eight weeks before his uncle, Roux Bear, two, and the two children now have an inseparable bond.
Meire said the experience of being pregnant alongside her mum, who also has a 13-year-old, a 10-year-old and a three-year-old, was extremely special, and one of the best experiences of her life.

The stay-at-home-mum, said: “Mum was so excited when I found out I was pregnant, she said she hoped it’d be a boy.
“Two months later, mum found out she was pregnant as well, she was scared to tell me at first, as she didn’t want to take the spotlight off me.

“I told her not to be silly, and that I wouldn’t want to go through pregnancy with anyone else.

“Being pregnant at the same time as my mum was so special, there’s no words to describe how it felt.

“It’s truly the best experience I’ve ever been through.
“The two boys are now inseparable and run around playing with each other all day.
“Their bond is truly amazing."

Jodie said: "I was very much surprised to find out I was having a baby at the same time as Meire as I wasn't planning on having anymore children.
"I wanted to enjoy being a nan and thought I was too old to do it again, turns out last time around was the easiest by far.
"I loved sharing every stage with Meire from scans to growing bumps, shopping for matching outfits for them, seeing my beautiful grandson being born and enjoying newborn cuddles even before my own baby arrived.
"It's so lovely to watch Roux and Grayson grow together.
"They're more like brothers than nephew and uncle."
Meire found out she was expecting her first baby with partner Callum, in May 2023, when she was 18.
She hadn’t planned to get pregnant, and said that she was at first scared and nervous, but soon became excited at the prospect of welcoming a little one into the world.
Two months later, in July 2023, Jodie found out that she was expecting as well, and although she was at first concerned that her pregnancy would take the spotlight of her daughter, Meire was overjoyed by the news.
The mum and daughter duo went to all of each other’s pregnancy appointments, planned each other’s gender reveals and supported each other throughout their pregnancies.
“We live really close to each other, so we’d see each other every day," she said.
Their friends and family were all overjoyed by the news, especially as they found out Meire and Jodie were both having boys.
“Everyone was buying them matching outfits," she said.
Meire said that the best thing about going through pregnancy alongside her mum was that they were sharing experiences, and that Jodie could guide her through the different stages of her journey.
“My mum’s my best friend," Jodie said.
“She had me at 17, so we’ve always been super close, and we can talk to each other about anything.”
Meire gave birth to Grayson on Christmas Day 2025, and exactly two months later, Jodie gave birth to Meire’s little brother.
The two mums now help each other out with childcare, and Grayson and his uncle have an extremely close bond.
The two boys have recently started nursery together, and Meire loves that they will always have each other’s backs throughout life.
“If they struggle to make friends, or are ever bullied, they will always have each other," she said.
