Daniel Stendel pleased as Barnsley find their scoring boots in win

Reyes Cleary, Tyrese Noslin and an excellent strike from Corey O’Keeffe saw off Crewe in the Carabao Cup.
Barnsley head coach Daniel Stendel was pleased with his side’s performance as they progressed to the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Reyes Cleary and Tyrese Noslin scored twice in three minutes to cancel out Crewe’s opener from Adrien Thibaut midway through the first half.
Full-back Corey O’Keeffe then scored a peach from just outside the area to make it 3-1.
Joel Ewusi scored a consolation goal in the 89th minute but Crewe could not complete a spirited comeback.
The hosts were dominant after the equaliser – much to the delight of Stendel.
He said: “I think we started well and we had some chances but not that really big chance.
“It was a bit similar to the last league games – the feel we are the better team but not scoring.
“In the last two league games we had not scored one goal. I am happy that we scored three goals today and we had chances for more.”
Charlie McNeill rattled the post for the Railwaymen with 10 minutes to play and Mickey Demetriou thought he had levelled the game in added time but Rogan Ravenhill excellently tipped his header onto the post.
Crewe manager Lee Bell praised teenager Ewusi even as he admitted there was a “massive gulf in class”.
He added: “I’m absolutely made up for him.
“He’s worked ever so hard, not coming from the country and things like that and settled into the environment really well and he’s really progressed this season.
“It’s the most pleasing thing really to take from the game.”
