Tettenhall Wood Photographic Club members have been praised for the quality of their work after the first round of the season's printed image competition
Members of Tettenhall Wood Photographic Club have been showing off their talents in the first round of the group's annual printed image competition.

The event, held on Tuesday, October 27, featured a range of high-quality prints judged by Peter Turner, from Dudley Camera Club, who praised the standard of entries.

The competition was split into advanced, intermediate and general sections, with awards presented across all three categories.
In the advanced section, Michael Bull took first place with Female Banded Demoiselle. John White was second with Victorian Elegance, while Neil Kingsbury came third with Midnight Garden.

Graham Newport won the intermediate section with Madonna, followed by Martin Edwards with Ten past Nine Coffee Time and Delia Kingsbury with Blue Spotted Feather.
In the general section, Dean Hardie claimed first place with Orange Tip. Bryan Organ was second with Siesta Time, while Mark Rock took third place with Petunia Pink Star.

The club also recently held a portrait photography studio session on October 20, with model and photographer Tom Swallow posing in fisherman and old-time gambler outfits. He also shared advice with members during the evening.
The club's photographs can be viewed on its Facebook page, Tettenhall Wood Photographic Club, and at twpc.org.uk.

Its forthcoming programme includes a talk by visiting speaker Graham Walton, entitled Ninety Shades of Graeme, on Tuesday, November 3. Members will also be visiting Shrewsbury Prison with their cameras.
