Wolves' Matt Doherty nominated for Championship award
Wolves defender Matt Doherty's impressive start to the season has been recognised with a nomination for the Championship's player of the month award for August.
After making a clean sweep of the club's own awards last season, the 24-year-old full-back has continued his form into the new campaign and played a key role in a defence which conceded just four times in the opening five league fixtures.

In addition, the Irishman has again displayed his ability to produce eye-catching moments in the final third, scoring an excellent goal in the 2-0 home win over Reading and then almost repeating the feat last time out at Huddersfield.
A four-man judging panel, which includes former Wolves striker Don Goodman, will choose between Doherty, Fulham's Tom Cairney, Barnsley's Conor Hourihane and Huddersfield's Aaron Mooy, with the winner set to be announced on Friday.
Burton boss Nigel Clough, who brings his side to Molineux on Saturday, has meanwhile been nominated for the manager of the month prize along with Barnsley's Paul Heckingbottom, Bristol City's Lee Johnson and Huddersfield's David Wagner.
