Posh deny McLean Wolves bid

Reports that Wolves have bid £1million for striker Aaron McLean has been refuted by Peterborough.

McLean, 25, has come to the attention of a number of clubs after 29 goals from the League Two top scorer last season, his first full season for the Posh.

But director of football Barry Fry and manager Darren Ferguson, a former Wolves midfielder, are united in their response - McLean is going nowhere.

Fry said: "I saw Mick McCarthy recently but it is rubbish. They were talking about £2m last season so why he is worth £1m now, I don't know. We haven't heard from Wolves.

Ferguson added: "None of our players are for sale."
