'Like watching Brazil': Things you may have missed from Wolves' draw with Sunderland

Wolves were held to a 1-1 draw with their players booed off following the game.

Having fallen behind they were given a leg up with Sunderland reduced to ten men.

They then equalised through Santi Bueno and had chances but fans were unhappy with some of the changes.

Here are a few things you may have missed from the game.

Voting with feet

Despite Wolves’ desperately bad campaign, they have been well supported throughout the dark days.

Molineux, although not full, has not been a ground where there have not been scores of empty seats.

The fans have kept the atmosphere up and tried to give it a really good go. They did that against Sunderland, but the amount of empty seats were telling.

The upper section of the Steve Bull stand looked half full, while the North Bank was also half full.

The South Bank, which is usually full, had empty seats dotted about. Given the three defeats, some fans have just simply had enough. And you cannot blame them.

‘Like watching Brazil’

Wolves fans are usually quite witty and creative with their chanting - and there were a host of ironic ones being rolled out in the first half against Sunderland.

There were a number of anti-VAR ones after the Sunderland red card incident.

But with Wolves struggling to get hold of the ball, make anything happen and make it stick, they were serenaded with an ironic rendition of ‘it’s just like watching Brazil’.

It drew plenty of laughs from fans and reporters in the press box. ‘Lincoln away’ was another one.

While for the second straight game, there were loud calls against owners Fosun, with fans asking for them to sell the club.

South Bank evacuation

As I’ve stated above, there were a host of empty seats at Molineux for the game.

But in the second half there was a small section of the South Bank that was completely empty.

Fans were made to move in the break and there has been no confirmation as to why it happened.

However, there was some talk on social media among Wolves fans that it was to do with something falling from the roof in that section of the ground.
