The former Wolves and West Brom bosses top the betting with BetVictor as the race to take the top job at Turf Moor heats up.

Edwards was sacked by Wolves in June, following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season. Edwards’ tenure at Molineux lasted only seven months, where he took charge of 30 games, winning five.

Edwards has managed in the Championship before, taking charge of Middlesbrough, Watford and Luton Town, where he guided the Hatters to the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history.

BetVictor currently has Edwards as the favourite for the job at evens, with Carlos Corberan following closely behind at 2/1.

Corberan left The Hawthorns in 2024 after two years at the club as he returned to Spain to manage Valencia.

The LaLiga side relieved Corberan of his duties as manager last month, after Valencia had failed to win any of their opening five league games.

Corberan made a name for himself in the Championship as a first-team coach at Leeds United under Marcelo Bielsa.

After three years at Leeds, Corberan would leave for Huddersfield Town, where he would narrowly miss out on promotion to the Premier League, losing to Nottingham Forest in the play-off final.

Former Wolves striker Robbie Keane has also been listed as a candidate by BetVictor. Keane scored 29 goals in 88 appearances for Wolves between 1997 and 1999.

He stepped down as manager of Hungarian side, Ferencvaros in May after an 18-month tenure, during which time he achieved success in the league and cup competitions.

Other names heavily linked with the job include Steven Gerrard and Craig Bellamy.

Since 2024, Bellamy has taken charge of the Wales national team, however before his appointment, Bellamy took interim charge of the Clarets following the departure of Vincent Kompany.

Gerrard has not been in management since parting ways with Saudi Arabian club, Al Etiifaq in January 2025.

The former Aston Villa manager is currently at 3/1 to take over at Turf Moor.
