Wolves fans preparing to finally return home

It's good to be back! It promises to be an emotional day tomorrow as after more than a year away Wolves supporters will return to Molineux.

There will be 4,500 fans inside Molineux for the final game of the season against Manchester United and those lucky enough to have got their hands on a ticket are excited to finally return after so long away.

But it will be a bitter sweet occasion after the club announced that Nuno Espirito Santo is to leave the club by mutual agreement following the conclusion of the season.

Wolves have played the whole season behind closed doors and the team have certainly missed the backing of their passionate fans.

Jason Guy, a season ticket holder of nearly 30 years, is among supporters who will see his beloved Wolves again in the flesh after 14 long months away.

Missed

The 43-year-old from Trysull said: "We have missed it massively during lockdown. There has been a huge void and football is one of the only things that has kept people sane.

"The players and management have also missed us supporters. With Wolves fans we shouldn't underestimate the part they have played over the last few years. We create a really difficult environment for other teams to come to."

Jason said watching games in empty stadiums on the TV had not been anything like the enjoyment of the real thing, and he admitted it would be an emotional moment when he goes back into the ground again.

"It's very difficult to watch on the telly and get motivated and excited by it," he said.

"I'm looking forward to seeing mates I haven't seen for a while, and seeing the players as well. You really feel part of it when you're in the stadium. On TV you can't influence games.

"It has been such a long time. I'm looking forward to walking in and taking in the atmosphere."
