'Clearly we need' - What James Morrison said about West Brom transfers
The Baggies stepped up preparations with another strong win, with just one friendly to come before the season gets under way.
James Morrison insisted Albion are working hard in their pursuit to bolster the squad two weeks before the season kicks off.
The Baggies stepped up their pre-season preparation with a professional 4-1 friendly victory at League Two side Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
A strong Albion side fared well against 3,200 travelling supporters, after a more fringe side were beaten 3-1, via two late goals, in a training ground friendly against League One new boys Notts County earlier in the day.
Albion made returning left-back Conor Townsend their fifth new recruit of the summer on Friday night but Morrison’s squad is still light of two wingers and a right-back, plus more recruits to beef the head coach’s squad options.

Asked about ongoing business, Morrison said: “There is no specific area at the moment, but just that everybody in the club is working extremely hard to bring players in.
“We’re all on the same page. We know we need to bring players in and behind the scenes we’re getting that done.”
Albion were linked with French right-back Nolan Galvez, 23, of Ligue 2 outfit Rodez in the continental media on Saturday night, with Southampton also said to be keen. QPR and Millwall have been linked this summer, as well as Young Boys and OGC Nice.
The Baggies have been interested in a deal to bring back Danny Imray.
He said of the right-back pursuit, with Imray referenced: “Clearly we need a right-back. I’m not going to get drawn into talking about a player at a different club.”
He added of a need to be sorted in time for the season-opener: “I hear managers talking about it, I think we’re all saying the same thing. It’s not easy sometimes, but I can honestly say there is hard work behind the scenes.”
Having seen off two opponents 4-1 in a little over a week, Albion begin their season against another side from the fourth tier, Rotherham United, on the road in the EFL Cup in two weeks on August 8.
