The 20-year-old, who will wear the number 17 shirt, has joined in time to play against Stoke City at The Hawthorns.

As exclusively revealed by the Express & Star, Burke completed his medical at the training ground yesterday afternoon.

A Nottingham Forest academy product, the 6ft 2in winger joined German club Leipzig last summer for £13m but found it difficult to get starts.

"I feel like it is a time for me to move on and play more games," said Burke. "I'm here, I want to impress and I want my name to be first on the team sheet."

Head Coach Tony Pulis described Burke as a player with "tremendous talent" who has got "a fantastic raw ability."

Although Pulis isn't planning to start him against Stoke, Burke is likely to be named among the substitutes.

Chairman John Williams said: "We're delighted to see him at the Albion.

"He's clearly a talented young footballer and we believe this is the kind of signing that will excite our fans. We're all looking forward to seeing him in action."
