"No rush" - Lee Grant to be patient over Walsall captaincy decision
Pattison and Burke wore the armband in Walsall’s pre-season opener.
Lee Grant says he is in "no rush" to appoint a club captain as he continues to assess the leadership roles within his new-look squad at Walsall.
Former club captain Jamille Matt departed the Saddlers in the summer when he was among 12 players to be released.
Alex Pattison wore the armband during the first half of Walsall's goalless stalemate at Leamington on Saturday and Harrison Burke skippered the team after the break in their pre-season opener.
But Grant wants to take his time before he making a decision on who his captain will be next season.
‘Take my time’ - Grant on captaincy decision

"In all honesty, I'm going to take my time with that decision," the Walsall head coach revealed.
"I really am because I want to give us and myself the best opportunity to understand where everybody is at.
"The leadership qualities within the group, I want to see those come to the fore and I want to see how that develops over the course of the next five to six weeks.
"In reality, I don't think that decision needs to be rushed. It's going to be two thirds of a completely new group.
"So we have to understand each other and how we operate in and around one another before we make those sorts of decision. There will be no rush at all on that one."

Burke spoke about his "pride" to captain the team on the weekend and will relish showcasing his leadership qualities next season with or without the armband.
"It's something I take massive pride in. I'm not one to try and push it under the carpet," the defender added.
"It means a lot to me, but with it comes a lot of responsibility and I like to believe that I can hold that responsibility.
"So it's something that I will take on and then if the gaffer wants to put more pressure on me to raise standards or keep them high, then I'm all for that.
"I'll take that pressure in my stride because I believe that's what I can do. I've always relished it and it's something I'm not embarrassed to say.
"It's never bothered me if someone has called me busy. I just look forward to getting the lads going and talking to them.
"Whether that is on the pitch, in the stands or on the bench. Whatever it is, I will be there trying to do my bit."
