Wolverhampton cafe bar favoured by Nuno to get 100-seat roof terrace, creating at least 10 jobs
£250,000 expansion at bar favoured by former Wolves boss
A popular Wolverhampton cafe bar, which counted former Wolves boss Nuno among its customers, is to build a 100-seat roof terrace with an electric glass canopy as it bids to expand.
Jack’s Cafe and Bar, which provided the catering for Wolves’ civic parade after they won the Championship title in 2018, hopes to have the extension completed in time for summer after being granted planning permission by Wolverhampton Council.
The plans also include a 110,000 sq ft kitchen extension to the bar in Frederick Street, opposite St John’s Retail Park.
Co-owner Jimmy Singh, who has been running the bar with his family for 16 years, said the original plan had been to extend the kitchen to cope with the growing demand for food.

The bar, which opens from 7am to 2am, is well-known for its cooked breakfasts and grills.
But Mr Singh said that it made sense to create a roof terrace at the same time, particularly following this year’s record hot summer.
“We thought there wasn’t much point in having a flat roof, because that wouldn’t be doing much for us, so we decided to create a rooftop sun terrace, for use during the summer,” he said.
“It will have an electric, retractable glass roof, like you see abroad, which can quickly be closed if it begins to rain, and which will be in place during the winter.
“We will also have a large screen, we show a lot of sporting events. We also have a function room, so we can have bi-folding doors opening out onto the terrace.”
Mr Singh said he expected the expansion would create 10-15 jobs.
