Walsall fan favourite Albert Adomah signs a new deal aged 38
Walsall favourite Adomah will turn 39 in December,
38-year-old Albert Adomah has signed a new one-year deal at Walsall to extend his stay until next summer.
The veteran, who turns 39 in December, scored eight goals and set-up four more in 51 appearances across all competitions for the Saddlers last term.
Adomah has been in contract discussions in recent weeks, as his previous deal was due to expire on June 30.
The former Ghana international joined Walsall in the summer of 2024 after his contract with Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers expired.
Since, Adomah has scored 13 goals and set-up 11 more in 105 appearances in all competitions for the club.
“I’m really pleased and delighted to be staying with the Saddlers for another season,” Adomah said.
“I’ve had two seasons at the club now and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here both on and off the pitch.
“Everyone has been great with me so it was an easy decision for me to continue for another year.
“I’ve had positive conversations with the new head coach [Lee Grant] and I feel really loved by the supporters.”
Walsall reached the League Two play-off final, which they lost to AFC Wimbledon at Wembley, during his debut season in 2024-25.
They finished in a disappointing 13th-place last term, although Adomah surpassed a century of appearances to become the first player in EFL history to play 100 games for six different clubs.
Adomah also scored his 100th club career goal earlier in the season during the Saddlers’ 3-1 win at local rivals Shrewsbury Town in the EFL Trophy in September last year.

He will now have his sights set on the next milestone - with the experienced winger just five shy of 800 club appearances.
“I just want to keep playing as much as I possibly can, help the team wherever I can and give my experiences and knowledge to the players to help them develop,” he added.
“It’s time to get back to work for another pre-season. I’m looking forward to the challenge and I just can’t wait to get going again.”
Rico Browne has also been offered a new deal, although reports elsewhere recently claimed that he has rejected that proposal.
Those reports have not been confirmed by the club, who remain in negotiations with the defender.
The club did not comment on his contract situation in their latest press release.
