'It's not just me' - Morgan Rogers makes key point after firing Aston Villa to victory again
Match-winner Morgan Rogers saluted his Villa team-mates after his double downed Manchester United.
The England international bagged a brace for the second straight Sunday and the third time in a month as Unai Emery’s team made it 10 wins in a row in all competitions.
But Rogers deflected the post-match praise on to his team-mates and told Sky Sports: "I'm really confident and enjoying my football but it's not just me, it's the whole team.
“The team's performances give me that belief and confidence and allow me to be me. That's the most important thing.
“Our team performances are getting us the wins, not just me."
Rogers, who scored twice in the previous weekend’s 3-2 win at West Ham, curled home to open the scoring just before half-time.
Matheus Cunha levelled almost immediately for United but Rogers had the final say with another sublime finish.
Villa moved back to within three points of Premier League leaders Arsenal ahead of away matches against Chelsea and the Gunners.
Asked about his goals, Rogers replied: "It's hard work, it's long hours and you want every one to go in the top corner like that, so it's nice when one does go in.
“You've just got to keep trying it and trying it, and sometimes it's your day, sometimes it isn't. Luckily lately it has been and I'm happy about that."
When asked if Villa were thinking of a title challenge, the 23-year-old said: "You make those conversations, not us.
“We're firmly focused on the task at hand and handling it each game."
