Aston Villa star wants more after scoring twice to beat Burnley
Two-goal hero Donyell Malen urged resurgent Villa to keep their foot on the gas after his double downed Burnley.
The Netherlands international scored his first goals of the season to earn Unai Emery’s team their fourth straight win in all competitions.
Malen, making his first Premier League start of the season, produced two excellent finishes in each half against the Clarets, before Lesley Ugochukwu pulled one back to set-up a nervy finish.
Villa, who failed to win any of their opening six matches of the season, are now up to 13th in the table.
Malen told the BBC: "We had a hard start, we turned it around quite well. For now we have to keep looking forward and push for more points and more good games.
"I think it was a good performance overall. First half we were really on it and at periods during the second half we were also good so quite pleased.
“You don't want to concede because you know they are going to come back but the whole team did well to maintain the lead.”
The 26-year-old opened the scoring in the 25th minute and then doubled Villa’s advantage just past the hour mark.
He was then substituted in the 84th minute and asked if he was disappointed at missing out on a hat-trick, replied: "You always hope for a hat-trick and more goals but I was a bit tired as well."
