Earlier this week Albion agreed a £10m deal with Southampton - with the winger signing a four year deal at St Marys.

Fellows' future has been the subject of much speculation in recent transfer windows - and in recent weeks talk of a potential move has ramped up.

Fellows officially departed on Friday evening and quickly after it was announced, he issued a heartfelt message to the Albion staff and supporters.

The winger insisted it was 'strange' to say goodbye after being happy at the club - and thanked all the staff for their work at Albion.

He said: "After 12 years in the West Brom family it feels strange to say goodbye.

"West Bromwich Albion has been my life and I have been so happy here.

"I want to thank everyone at WBA who has helped me get to where I am today.

"For the managers, the coaching staff way back from when I was 10 years old in the academy, to the backroom staff, kitmen, catering staff, and a special mention to the stewards and the staff who have looked after my family so well in matchdays.

"Most importantly I want to thank the fans, who are the heart of the club. Players come and go but your allegiance to the club does not waver.

"All the best West Brom, I will miss you all and will look back with fondness and lots of good memories."
