Aston Villa target to make 'imminent' decision on future
Villa target Nicolas Jackson is expected to have his future resolved by the end of the week.
The Chelsea forward is a primary target for Villa boss Unai Emery but they face serious competition from Bayern Munich for his signature.
Jackson is valued at £80million by the London club and Villa, who are operating under considerable financial restrictions, have been trying to negotiate down their current loan fee demand, believed to be around £10m.
The 24-year-old’s agent, former Albion striker Diomansy Kamara, claimed on Tuesday a decision on his player’s future was “imminent”.
He told the French press: “30 goals in two seasons, without a single penalty. Highs, lows... but a page is turning at the Blues. Always grateful for yesterday, but already looking toward tomorrow, with optimism.
"Germany, Italy, England: the options are numerous, the decision is imminent. Thank you for the support, we see your messages... Nicolas Jackson, transfer expected within 48 hours."
Villa have considered another Chelsea forward, Christopher Nkunku, as an alternative should they fail to land Jackson.
Emery, who has seen more than a dozen senior players offloaded this summer, has hinted more could leave before Monday’s deadline.
Morgan Rogers, however, will not be among them with Villa adamant the PFA young player of the year is not for sale, despite reports suggesting Tottenham were preparing an approach.
