Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw has completed his move to newly-promoted Championship side Barnsley.

The wantaway forward, who earlier this week handed in a written transfer request, underwent a medical at Oakwell before signing a three-year deal.

Bradshaw had looked set to move to Championship outfit Rotherham, but his desire to leave sparked a fresh bid from the Tykes – with the two clubs working quickly to thrash out a deal.

The Express & Star understands he has moved to Yorkshire for a fee in the region of £650,000 with the deal also including a future sell-on clause.

"I'm over the moon to get the deal over the line," said Bradshaw. "It's a massive club. I'm very excited to get started, meet the lads and show them what I can do."

Bradshaw continued, "I met him (manager Paul Heckingbottom) for the first time yesterday, he was brilliant. He introduced me into the way they like to play, their philosophy and what he expects from me this season, what he expects from the team, and his masterplan to attack the Championship!

"Obviously playing here a few times in the last couple of seasons, I know the fans are brilliant, the atmosphere is brilliant and it's a club I want to represent and play for.

"I like to think what I bring most is goals. I'm a natural goal-scorer, I like to get into the box and get on the end of crosses, passes, whatever I can do to get the ball into the net."

Bradshaw is hoping the move can aid his Wales career.

He added: "That was one of the main reasons I wanted to play Championship football this year, to enhance my career, help Barnsley to kick on as high as we can go in the Championship and give the fans what they want to see."

Bradshaw has been a revelation since joining Walsall from Shrewsbury in 2014 – scoring 20 goals in each of the last two seasons.
