Poll: Do you feel you are in the right career?
Half of Britons hate their jobs so much that they think they're in the wrong career, research has revealed.
A quarter of people would even describe themselves as poor employees because they are so unhappy, while one in seven don't care about their job at all - and some 49 per cent are thinking seriously about finding a new role.
One in five of the 2,000 workers surveyed blame their misery on their job being 'meaningless' and too stressful.
Half feel they have gone as far as they can in their profession and 15 per cent think their hours are too long.
The study found the legal profession was the unhappiest, with four in ten not enjoying their work, followed by manufacturing and hospitality.
And 70 per cent of people would now consider working for themselves. Owning a cafe or a B&B or writing a novel were the most popular alternatives.
