The Birmingham accent lost the battle of appeal in the poll of British adults.

In net terms it scored -53, 20 points below the second lowest, Scouse, the accent of Liverpool, with -33.

The UK has a massive variation of accents, roughly as many as there are in the whole of North America, including Canada, Bermuda and Native American dialects.

Ireland, which for a long time had a shrinking population largely due to emigration (which means the accent is well-known worldwide), is apparently the best accent, with a net score of 42.
