After all the political upset brought about by yesterday’s General Election outcome, many of us could do with a drink.
And it seems Gladstone, the Treasury cat, feels that pain.
An unofficial Twitter account for the government department’s chief mouser tweeted a picture of a fellow moggie cuddling up to a bottle of gin in a sorry celebration of World Gin Day.
The caption read: “Today of all days this is probably much needed for many of you.”
@TreasuryMog also provided a prediction for what the future may hold for Theresa May.
Featuring an unhappy looking cat sat outside a polling station, Gladstone tweeted: “I have a feeling we’ll all be back here soon and with the same expression as this cat.”
Pass us the gin.
