Popular Sedgley sanctuary set to reopen after closing due to heatwave

The popular animal sanctuary announced it had reopened after several days of closure due to the heatwave.

A popular animal sanctuary has announced it has reopened its doors after a brief period of closure due to hot weather.

Brockswood Animal Sanctuary in Sedgley put out a message on social media to let the public know that it had reopened the sanctuary on Catholic Lane.

In the message, the sanctuary also thanked people for their patience and understanding and said it had been working to find more shady spots for animals to use.

The message said: ”Good news, we’re open again.

“A few people have been asking, so just to confirm, we are back open as usual and we’d love to welcome you.

“Thank you so much for your patience and understanding while we closed during the hottest part of the weather.

“It allowed our team to focus completely on keeping the animals comfortable.

“You might still spot the odd makeshift bit of shade around the sanctuary.

“They’re staying for now, partly because the weather still can’t quite make its mind up, and partly because the animals don’t care if things look a little untidy as long as they’re comfortable.”

The sanctuary also made the announcement that it would be opening seven days a week as the school holidays began to provide a place for families to go during the summer.

The message said: “There’s one more bit of good news too.

“From next Wednesday, we’ll be opening seven days a week throughout the school holidays, so whether you’re looking for something to do with the family or simply fancy spending some time with the animals, we’ll be here every day.

“We can’t wait to welcome you back. See you soon.”
