Police swoop at Blues

Police investigating football corruption raided Birmingham City FC this morning.

The swoop on the Premier League club was carried out by City of London Police.

The raid at St Andrew's is understood to relate to the Lord Stevens inquiry which focused mainly on illicit payments to agents.

There is no suggestion the club has done anything illegal and Blues have promised to co-operate fully. No-one connected with the club has been quizzed or held.
