Motorists in Bilston warned of diversions on road due to emergency water works

Motorists have been warned of a diversion around an area of Bilston after emergency water works were announced.

Wolverhampton Council said that due to the works by Severn Trent Water, the entrance to Shale Street at the Broad Street Junction would be closed until Monday.

A full diversion route has been put up on the One Network website.

A spokesman for Wolverhampton Council said: “Severn Trent Water emergency works mean a temporary road closure on Shale Street, at Broad Street junction, expected to be in place until Monday, July 27.

“Vehicular diversion route is in place via Wolverhampton Street, High Street, Smith Street and Broad Street and vice versa.”
