Northbound M42 in West Midlands shut after crash and 'substantial' fuel spillage
A “hydro blaster” has been requested to tackle the spillage

The northbound M42 has been shut near Solhull, between Junctions 3A (Hockley Heath) and 4 (Dorridge).
At 6.41am on Thursday (July 9) National Highways West Midlands said: “Emergency services including Warwickshire Police are in attendance. National Highways traffic officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management.
“Recovery has arrived on scene and a hydro blaster has been requested to deal with the spillage.”
Anyone travelling this morning whose route has been affected is advised to plan ahead and allow extra time.
