Applicant Axora Properties Ltd hopes to convert Jerome Chambers at 16 Bridge Street into four one-bedroom apartments.

If approved, the flats will be created on the first and second floors, with the ground floor being retained for retail units.

Each apartment will have a double bedroom and a single lounge and kitchen area. No parking spaces are available.

The art-deco building, located in the Bridge Street Conservation Area, was once part of the Walsall Observer newspaper offices.

No heritage information has been provided in the application.

Walsall Council owned the building until it went under the hammer earlier this year, where it sold for £243,000.

A target date for a decision has been set in February 2026.
