Prolific Walsall thief, 39, jailed for two months after more than 20 shop thefts
A prolific thief who carried out more than 20 shop thefts across the Walsall borough has been jailed.
Ricky Lewis, aged 39, of no fixed abode, was jailed for two months when he appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on October 27 and pleaded guilty to 21 shop theft offences.
The offences were carried out at shops across Willenhall, Walsall and Bloxwich between September 5 and October 18 this year.

It follows an arrest by neighbourhood officers on 26 October on Miner Street, in Birchills.
PC Matt Smith, from Willenhall Police, who was in charge of the investigation, said: “Lewis is a prolific offender who was targeting local shops and stores. He has a long history of theft related offences.
"Such offending has a significant impact on our businesses and targeting shop thieves is a priority for us.
“This sentence sends out a clear message to shop thieves that if you commit shop theft crimes, we will arrest you and place you before the courts and you will spend time behind bars.”
